GAS
Your holiday home uses bottled gas, with costs varying based on how often you visit and your heating preferences.
Transparency matters when you're making an important decision like buying a holiday home. At Flower of May, we believe you should know exactly what ownership will cost before you commit. This page provides a complete breakdown of purchase costs, annual fees, and ongoing expenses so you can make an informed decision with confidence.
Your initial investment includes the purchase price of your chosen holiday home. To make things easy, we show you one total price that covers everything you need to get started: the current season's site fees, two gas bottles and regulator (if needed), steps with handrail, siting and transport, your utility connections, gas safety test, and VAT.
On some of our parks, the price may also include extras like a barrier fob, WiFi installation with a year of data, and TV aerial. Just let one of our advisors know if you're interested in any of these additions. The price of our holiday homes varies considerably, so whether you're looking for a pre-owned caravan or a brand new luxury lodge, we'll help you find something that fits your budget.
Site fees are a big part of the costs of caravan ownership and it’s a question we’re often asked here at Flower Of May. These annual fees vary between our parks and even within the same park depending on your pitch location and the type of holiday home you choose. These fees cover your plot rental, park maintenance and landscaping, and access to all on-site facilities.
Because each park has different pricing structures, we recommend discussing specific site fees with our sales team who can give you exact figures for the park and pitch you're interested in. Our site fees are reviewed annually, and we always aim to keep increases fair and predictable.
For 2026, our site fees start at £X,XXX – this is based on a static caravan pitch at XXX Park.

Metered and paid based on your actual usage throughout the season.
Available on some parks as an optional extra, either included in your initial purchase or available as an add-on service.
These ongoing costs are part of regular ownership, and our team can give you realistic estimates based on typical usage patterns.
Protecting your investment is essential. We strongly recommend arranging specialist holiday home insurance that covers both the structure and contents of your caravan. Unlike standard home insurance, holiday home policies are designed specifically for static properties on park sites.
Don't forget to arrange a drain down service at the end of each season – this protects your holiday home's water systems during colder months and is an important part of proper maintenance.
One of the benefits of holiday home ownership is that maintenance is relatively straightforward. Depending on what's included with your holiday home when you purchase, you might want to budget for items like aerials, appliances, or furniture.
Many owners also choose to add personal touches like decking to expand their outdoor living space. Our sales advisors are always happy to help you figure out the best options for your needs and budget.
Holiday homes used solely for leisure purposes are typically exempt from Council Tax. Your holiday home must not be your main residence, and there may be restrictions on the number of days you can occupy it annually. We'll explain the specific regulations that apply to ensure you remain compliant.
Please note: Flower of May parks are not residential. You cannot live in your holiday home permanently, and it cannot be listed as your main residence.
At Flower of May, we're committed to complete financial transparency. Before you commit to purchase, we provide clear information about all costs – both initial and ongoing. Our experienced team will answer all your financial questions honestly and help you create a realistic budget for ownership.
After all, we're a family business with over 40 years of experience. We want you to feel confident and informed every step of the way.
